Frank's Hats

My aim was to make a head space out of just the stitched text. I machine embroidered the names of all the hats owned by my son's friend Tom on to disolvable membrane which disappeared when i soaked it with water. It was a fine balance between washing all the glue away and the letters loosing all their form and having too much glue left but being able to make out some of the words  in terestingly the residue glue was reminiscent of the vernix
